Research and development in the universities

The research conducted at our universities is focused especially on responsible tourism planning, participation, multispecies co-existence and cultural sensitivity. We examine the sustainability of tourism in the context of, for instance, hospitality, diverse operational environments and working and learning together.

At Lapland UAS, creative, experiential and smart tourism solutions are the focal points in the development of sustainable tourism and competence. Our expertise is a new luxury in the changing landscape of tourism.

Our researchers and research groups collaborate closely with businesses, local communities and both national and international research networks – without forgetting the presence of other species living in nature.
